Lead Development Representative (LDR)

Position Overview

The Lead Development Representative is responsible for lead prospecting, lead creation, and lead qualification for the sales team and for generally keeping the top end of the sales funnel filled with qualified opportunities. The person in this role will work with the rest of the marketing team to develop lead generation campaigns, generate prospect lists, set up customer meetings, and respond to all inbound leads generated from marketing campaigns, inbound emails, web forms, and other sources.

Responsibilities

  • Work with sales and marketing to identify target list characteristics for campaigns and generate both email and phone prospect lists
  • Using Marketo marketing automation, run email campaigns to generate leads
  • Respond quickly with each inbound or responsive lead via phone and/or email to help qualify them
  • Conduct regular follow-up calls with all leads as required
  • Pass qualified leads to sales representatives for follow up
  • Organize sales prospecting trips and set up client up meetings
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales personnel to optimize lead generation programs
  • Use Marketo and Salesforce.com to update accounts, leads, contacts, and opportunities based on best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Create sales and marketing collateral as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications
  • Minimum 2-years of experience in a marketing, inside sales, or account management role
  • Strong understanding of the lead generation process
  • Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce preferred) and marketing automation (Marketo preferred)
  • Strong phone, written, and verbal communication skills along with active listening
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Team player with strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills along with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
