Position Overview
The Junior Account Executive will be responsible for sales administration and cold prospecting within a given sales pod territory.  The position will report to the existing Sales Managers/Directors as well as to the Sr. VP of Sales.  The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for lead generation activities and play an integral role in achieving team goals.  The role will offer the right high-energy individual the ability to have an enormous impact on the company’s bottom line by helping to increase the customer base and accelerating revenue growth.  Compensation for this position includes a competitive base salary plus lead referral bonuses.

Responsibilities of Junior Account Executive

  • Assist in managing all aspects of the customer relationship – including account identification, penetration, quoting, ordering, delivery, and ongoing management
  • Produce leads, contacts, meetings for the upper-level sales personnel
  • Work with internal teams and technology to determine the feasibility of sample requests and keep projects moving through the funnel
  • Assist with quoting, drafting of statements of work, and project input for feasibility
  • Set personal sales objectives for production of leads, new clients, and meetings to drive growth
  • Act as the internal liaison for the sales pod, functioning as an inter-departmental representative
  • By using the systems we have employed along with assistance from the Market Response Team, use research to build prospecting lists and lead gen campaigns across the entire company’s portfolio
  • Function as an internal administrator for assisting the pod team with improved functionality and integration of the CRM
  • Attend conferences and other events for the sales organization
  • Support lead generation and qualification of inbound new business for warm transfer to regional managers


Qualifications of Junior Account Executive

  • 3+ years of experience working in a clinical lab environment with an eagerness to move into a sales position or 3+ years of sales support experience within the biotech/biopharma industry
  • Prior experience in the human biospecimens industry a plus
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly
  • Team player with strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Prior inside sales training and knowledge of Salesforce a plus
  • Ability to occasionally travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry or other life sciences desired
