Inside Sales Representative (IVD)

Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for biospecimen sales to the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry, including managing and growing an existing book of business while seeking opportunities to expand iSpecimen’s presence in the IVD market. The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for setting and achieving revenue generation and customer satisfaction goals with a focus on selling iSpecimen’s clinical lab samples.  The role will offer the right high-energy individual the ability to have an enormous impact on the company’s bottom line by accelerating revenue growth.  Compensation for this position includes both a competitive base salary plus commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with procurement personnel and researchers within the IVD research markets
  • Manage all aspects of the customer relationship – including account penetration, quoting, ordering, delivery, and ongoing management
  • Grow iSpecimen’s presence within existing IVD accounts
  • Expand into new IVD accounts by working with internal lead development reps to target new accounts
  • Respond to inbound requests for clinical lab samples from IVD companies
  • Work with internal technology and personnel to determine the feasibility of remnant sample requests and provide collection estimates to prospects
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining contact throughout the sales cycle.  Work with customer support to resolve customer issues in a timely fashion.
  • Provide feedback to marketing and management on customer requirements that impact future product directions and guide such developments
  • Set personal sales objectives and metrics, forecast revenue, manage pipeline, and track sales progress

 

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a clinical lab environment with an eagerness to move into a sales position or 3+ years of sales experience to the diagnostic industry with a willingness to learn about clinical lab tests and samples
  • Prior experience in the human biospecimens industry a plus
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
  • Exceptional sales, follow-up, and closing skills
  • Team player with strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Prior inside sales training and knowledge of Salesforce a plus
  • Ability to occasionally travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry or other life sciences desired
